How to Install IPTV on LG Smart TV
Install SS IPTV from the LG Content Store and link your LumIPTV M3U playlist to start watching live TV and movies on your LG Smart TV.
LG Smart TVs run webOS, a proprietary operating system with its own content store. While you cannot sideload arbitrary Android apps, LG's Content Store includes dedicated IPTV apps — most notably SS IPTV, which is free and works seamlessly with M3U playlists. Newer LG TVs (2022+) with webOS 22 may also have TiviMate Companion or IptvSmarters available. This guide focuses on SS IPTV as it supports the widest range of webOS versions.
Step-by-Step Guide
Press the Home button on your LG remote (the circle with a house icon). At the top right of the Home screen launcher, find the LG Content Store tile and press OK to open it. If you see a "Sign in to LG Channels" prompt, you can dismiss it — you do not need an LG account to install free apps.
Inside the Content Store, press the Search icon at the top-right corner and type "SS IPTV" using the on-screen keyboard. The SS IPTV app will appear — its icon is a blue TV screen. Press Install. The app is free and the download takes 15–30 seconds depending on your connection speed.
Open SS IPTV from your LG Home screen. On first launch the app shows a welcome message and a unique Device Code (a short alphanumeric string like X1Y2Z3). Write this down or take a photo — you will use it to link your playlist without typing on the TV.
On your phone or PC, go to ssiptv.app. Click "My list" at the top navigation. Enter the Device Code from your TV screen. In the Playlist URL field, paste your LumIPTV M3U link from your welcome email. Choose M3U as the playlist type, then click Save. The site will confirm the playlist is saved to your device.
Return to the SS IPTV app on your TV. Press the red button on your LG remote or navigate to Settings → Reload My List. SS IPTV will fetch your LumIPTV channels. The first load may show a progress bar for 30–60 seconds while it downloads and indexes the full channel list.
After loading completes, you will see your channel list organized into categories: Live TV, Movies, and Series tabs along the top. Use your LG Magic Remote pointer or the directional arrows to select a channel and press OK to play. Channels start streaming within 2–4 seconds on a stable broadband connection.
For a TV guide overlay showing what's on now and next, go to SS IPTV Settings → EPG Settings and paste the EPG URL from your LumIPTV welcome email. Set the EPG refresh interval to "Every 24 hours." The guide will populate the next time you press the EPG button on your remote.
